Enrolling in Our Enhanced Online Security System
There are three major components to our Enhanced Online Security System:
- Credentials: User Code and Password must match with our system records or access is refused
- Device: If your device—computer, mobile phone or tablet—isn’t recognized, you may be asked to complete a Security Challenge to ensure your identity
- Geographic Location: If access is being requested from a distant state or foreign country, you may be asked to complete a Security Challenge
You should set up your new security profile from the computer you use most often to access Online Banking. That will become your "home" computer, and our system will recognize you immediately.
You can establish Computer Profiles for additional computers at any time.
If you log in to Online Banking from a computer our system doesn't recognize, you will be asked to verify your identity using the challenge questions you established.
Before you log in to Online Banking, you will notice the URL displays a green bar or a green padlock depending upon your internet browser.
This provides visual confirmation that you are on a valid Bank Midwest website and connected to a safe server.
If it’s not green, you may need to clear your browser history and cached data in your web browser. If the bar is not green after clearing your browser history and cached data, stop your log in process and contact us.
Your Challenge Questions
The challenge questions will protect your account data when you're logging in from a computer our system doesn't recognize.
To verify your identity, you will select 3 pre-defined questions of your choice. Example: "What was the name of your first pet?"
We have done our best to make our Enhanced Online Security features as convenient and easy-to-use as possible.
