Mr. Thomas M. Metzger is chief of enterprise technology & integration for National Bank Holdings Corporation and president, Bank Midwest. Prior to joining Bank Midwest, Mr. Metzger was chief risk officer and group executive vice president of (RBS) Citizens Financial Group, where he was responsible for credit, operational and market risk and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Metzger, a seasoned banking veteran, has significant experience in regional and community banking. Prior to Citizens, he held positions at US Bancorp in St. Louis and its predecessor family of banks, including Firstar Bank and Mercantile Bank. Mr. Metzger also served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of (RBS) Citizens Bank New Hampshire. He began his banking career in 1974 at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and thereafter at the Office of Comptroller of the Currency.
Mr. Metzger graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, and has completed the Graduate & Post Graduate Schools of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also attended the RBS Executive Management Leadership Program conducted by Harvard University. He is very active in the Kansas City area communities, serving as a member of the board of directors of the Kansas City Civic Council and the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as the chairman of the Kansas City Chamber Membership Committee and is a past member of the board of directors of the Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC). He is also a Governor of the American Royal Association.
